Baden-Baden, February 1, 2018: Wolfgang Grenke, founder and chairman of the Board of Directors of GRENKE AG, informed the Supervisory Board in today’s meeting that he will not seek reappointment to the Company’s Board of Directors. The Supervisory Board was already aware of Wolfgang Grenke’s intention to place the management of the Company in younger hands in the near future. Nevertheless, the Supervisory Board accepted this news with great regret.

The Supervisory Board expressed its sincere appreciation to Wolfgang Grenke and paid tribute to the outstanding achievements this great entrepreneur has accomplished over the past forty years for his company and life’s work. The Board wishes him all the best in the future.

Wolfgang Grenke will leave the Board of Directors at the end of his term on February 28, 2018. As previously planned, the Supervisory Board unanimously appointed its former deputy, Ms Antje Leminsky, as Mr Grenke’s successor as Chairman of the Board of Directors. Ms Leminsky will assume her new position effective March 1, 2018. In addition to her previous responsibility for IT and personnel strategy, she will also be responsible in her new role for the Consolidated Group’s strategy, risk controlling and the credit centre. Sebastian Hirsch, as a member of the Board of Directors responsible for the areas of controlling, M&A and treasury, will also assume responsibility for the legal, tax and investor relations departments, which includes the capital market communications of the GRENKE Consolidated Group. There is currently no plan to appoint a new member to the Board of Directors.
